OCD Therapy
You know the thought doesn't make sense. You check anyway. Or wash, or count, or replay it one more time, just to feel okay for a moment. Then the relief fades, and the cycle starts again.
There's a way out of that loop.
Online Therapy Available Throughout California
In-Person Therapy Also Available in Sherman Oaks, LA
Our Goal: Help You Break the Cycle and Take Your Life Back.
OCD traps people in a loop. An intrusive thought creates intense anxiety, a compulsion brings brief relief, and that relief teaches your brain to do it all over again.
Underneath almost all of it, we find the same two things missing: balance and power.
Balance is being able to sit with uncertainty without needing to fix it right away.
Power is knowing you can choose how you respond to a thought, even when it feels urgent.
OCD is treatable, and we can help you loosen its grip on your time, your energy, and your peace of mind.
Insurances We Accept
We are currently working to paneled on more insurances as well!
You Know What This Feels Like.
Leaving the house takes longer than it should because something has to be checked, then checked again. A thought pops into your head that horrifies you, and you spend hours trying to prove to yourself it doesn't mean anything.
The rituals that were supposed to help have started running your day.
You might hide how much time it takes, or ask the people around you for reassurance over and over, knowing it only helps for a moment.
Maybe you've tried therapy before and spent sessions talking about the thoughts without learning how to change your response to them.
Without the right approach, the loop only gets tighter.
That's where we do things differently.
Symptoms of OCD We Can Help With
OCD looks different from person to person. Some compulsions are visible, while others happen entirely in your head.
Obsessions
Intrusive, unwanted thoughts. Disturbing images or ideas that feel completely out of character and won't go away.
Fear of contamination. Worry about germs, illness, or spreading harm to others.
Fear of causing harm. Doubts about whether you locked the door, turned off the stove, or might hurt someone.
A need for things to feel "just right." Discomfort until something is arranged, repeated, or done a certain way.
Compulsions
Checking and rechecking. Doors, appliances, messages, or your own memory.
Excessive cleaning or washing. Repeating until it finally feels clean enough.
Mental rituals. Counting, praying, replaying events, or reviewing in your head to feel certain.
Reassurance seeking. Asking others, or searching online, to quiet the doubt.
Avoidance. Steering clear of people, places, or situations that trigger the fear.
If several of these feel familiar, you're in the right place.
Here's What We Actually Do in OCD Therapy
When you come to Duality Psych Services, we start by getting honest about where you are. What triggers the thoughts, what the rituals look like, and how much of your day they're taking. Where you've been giving away your power without realizing it.
From there, we build a real treatment plan together.
Not session by session, hoping something sticks. A clear roadmap with specific goals and real direction, built around you from day one.
We're a small, intentional practice.
Every client we work with is matched carefully with the right therapist, not just whoever is available. And because our clinicians are trained across a wide range of approaches including trauma-focused therapy, somatic techniques, DBT, and cognitive approaches, we're never limited to one way of helping you.
We choose what fits where you are right now, and we adjust as you grow.
Because that's what actually works.
We choose what fits where you are right now, and we adjust as you grow.
This isn't one-size-fits-all therapy, it's therapy customized to you.
We're Not Here to Keep You in Therapy Forever.
Our goal from day one is to work ourselves out of a job.
That means giving you the insight and the skills to ride out intense emotions, build steadier relationships, and trust yourself again.
You'll have a toolkit that's yours to keep. And if life gets hard again down the road, you'll know how to handle it.
Here's What Can Change with OCD Therapy
The things that used to feel like mountains, can start to feel like molehills.
And not because life got easier. But because you grew.
The thoughts may still show up, but they lose their urgency. You notice them, let them pass, and keep going with your day.
The time you used to lose to rituals comes back to you. Leaving the house, finishing a task, or getting through a conversation stops feeling like a battle.
When things get hard, you don't collapse under the overwhelm, you know your power.
Instead of life just happening to you, you can feel like you're making real progress. That's what having balance looks like, and it's what we're here to help you find.
Breaking free from the OCD cycle is possible. And you don't have to figure out how to get there on your own. We can help.
If you’re ready to experience life better, we’re here to help.

Hi, We're Duality Psych Services.
We're a small, boutique therapy practice based in Los Angeles, and we built this practice with one belief at the center: therapy should be built around the person, not the other way around.
We kept seeing the same story. People who had tried therapy, done the work, and still weren't getting where they needed to go.
Not because they weren't trying hard enough. Because the approach wasn't built for them.
That's why every client here is matched carefully with the right therapist. Every treatment plan is built collaboratively.
And every session is pointed at the same goal: getting you to a place where you feel balanced, powerful, and ready to take on whatever comes next.
Why People Choose Duality Psych Services
A plan, not just a process.
You won't just show up week after week and see where it goes. From the start, we build a real treatment plan with you, with clear goals, a clear direction, and a clear path forward.
Therapy that fits you, not the other way around.
Our clinicians are trained across multiple evidence-based approaches. That means we're never locked into one way of helping you. We use what actually works for where you are right now.
The right therapist from the start.
We take the time to match you carefully before your first session. Not just whoever has availability, but the person best suited to what you're going through.
A practice that’s in it for the long game.
We accept Optum, UnitedHealthcare, & Aetna so cost doesn't have to be a barrier. And we are getting on more insurance panels as well. Because our goal is your independence, not your dependency, you'll always know we're working toward an endpoint, not just the next session.

Treat the whole picture, not just the presenting symptom
Symptoms are rarely the whole story. We look at what's actually driving what you're feeling, not just what brought you in the door, so your treatment plan addresses the cause.
03
Small, boutique practice, not a mill
We keep our team small on purpose. You're matched carefully with the right therapist, not whoever's next in the queue, and you're never just a name on a caseload.
04
Goal is independence, not indefinite sessions
We're not here to keep you in therapy forever. From day one, we work toward a real endpoint, so you leave with the tools to manage on your own.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
At present, we are in-network with Aetna and Optum/UnitedHealthcare.
We are also working to get panelled with more insurance providers to make it easier for clients to work with us.
For individuals who are not in-network with one of our insurance plans, our out-of-network fee for therapy is $250.00 per session.
-
We can still work together. Many plans in California include out of network (OON) benefits, meaning your insurer may reimburse you directly for part of each session even though we're not in their network.
Here's how that works. You pay the session fee upfront, and we give you a superbill, a receipt with the codes your insurer needs. You submit that to them, and if your plan has OON benefits, you get reimbursed directly. The exact percentage depends on your specific plan. We always recommend contacting your insurance to see if they will accept superbills for your sessions.
What we’d recommend is reaching out to us with your insurance card at the ready. On the call, we can collect all the information we'd need to check your benefits and will send you what we find as soon as possible. -
Yes. For most concerns, including anxiety, depression, and trauma, online therapy gets the same results as in-person. You're working with the same licensed clinician and the same treatment plan, just without the drive.
-
Yes. If you're covered by Aetna, Optum, or UnitedHealthcare, your online sessions are billed the same way as an in-person visit. If you have a different plan, many PPO plans still offer out-of-network reimbursement, and we can walk you through that on your free consultation call.
-
No. Our goal from day one is to give you a treatment plan with an actual endpoint, not open-ended weekly sessions. We want you to leave with the tools to manage on your own.
-
Before your first session, we take the time to understand what you're going through and match you with the clinician best suited to it, not just whoever has an opening.
-
That's common. If something feels off and therapy alone hasn't given you clarity, testing can help identify what's actually going on, whether that's ADHD, autism, or a learning difference. We offer both under one roof.
