In-Person Therapy Also Available in Sherman Oaks, LA
Our Goal: Help You Feel Steady in Yourself and Safe in Your Relationships.
Living with Borderline Personality Disorder often means feeling everything more intensely and more quickly than the people around you. Emotions surge, relationships swing between closeness and conflict, and your sense of who you are can shift from day to day.
Underneath almost all of it, we find the same two things missing: balance and power.
Balance is the steadiness to feel strong emotions without being swept away by them.
Power is the ability to choose how you respond, in your relationships and in your life.
BPD is highly treatable, and we can help you build the skills to feel more stable, more connected, and more like yourself.
Insurances We Accept
We are currently working to paneled on more insurances as well!
You Know What This Feels Like.
A text goes unanswered and your mind jumps to the worst. A small disagreement turns into a fight you never wanted to have. Someone you love feels like everything one day and like a threat the next.
And afterward, the regret and exhaustion set in.
You might feel empty in a way that's hard to describe, or unsure of who you really are when no one else is around. The fear of being left can be so strong that it shapes every relationship you have.
Maybe you've felt judged by the label itself, or worked with providers who didn't seem to understand what you were going through.
The cycle keeps repeating, and it starts to feel like this is just who you are.
That's where we do things differently.
Symptoms of BPD We Can Help With
BPD shows up differently for everyone, and most people relate to some of these experiences more than others.
Intense fear of abandonment. Reacting strongly to real or perceived rejection.
Unstable relationships. Swinging between feeling deeply close and deeply hurt.
Rapid emotional shifts. Moods that change quickly and feel hard to come down from.
Intense anger. Frustration that rises faster and stronger than you want it to.
An unsteady sense of self. Feeling unsure of who you are, what you want, or what you value.
Chronic emptiness. A hollow feeling that's hard to fill.
Impulsive behavior. Spending, substances, or risky choices in moments of distress.
Here's What We Actually Do in BPD Therapy
When you come to Duality Psych Services, we start by getting honest about where you are. What sets off your most intense reactions, what happens in your mind and body in those moments, and where you've been giving away your power without realizing it.
From there, we build a real treatment plan together.
Not session by session, hoping something sticks. A clear roadmap with specific goals and real direction, built around you from day one.
We're a small, intentional practice.
Every client we work with is matched carefully with the right therapist, not just whoever is available. And because our clinicians are trained across a wide range of approaches including trauma-focused therapy, somatic techniques, DBT, and cognitive approaches, we're never limited to one way of helping you.
We choose what fits where you are right now, and we adjust as you grow.
Because that's what actually works.
We choose what fits where you are right now, and we adjust as you grow.
This isn't one-size-fits-all therapy, it's therapy customized to you.
We're Not Here to Keep You in Therapy Forever.
Our goal from day one is to work ourselves out of a job.
That means giving you the insight and the skills to ride out intense emotions, build steadier relationships, and trust yourself again.
You'll have a toolkit that's yours to keep. And if life gets hard again down the road, you'll know how to handle it.
Here's What Can Change with BPD Therapy
The things that used to feel like mountains, can start to feel like molehills.
And not because life got easier. But because you grew.
Emotions still rise, but they stop taking over. You find yourself pausing before the text, the argument, or the impulsive decision, and choosing what comes next.
Your relationships start to feel safer and more consistent. The emptiness begins to fill with a clearer sense of who you are.
When things get hard, you don't collapse under the overwhelm, you know your power.
Instead of life just happening to you, you can feel like you're making real progress. That's what having balance looks like, and it's what we're here to help you find.
Recovery from BPD is possible. And you don't have to figure out how to get there on your own. We can help.
If you’re ready to experience life better, we’re here to help.
You might feel skeptical - especially if you’ve tried therapy before and felt like nothing changed. But this is different.

Hi, We're Duality Psych Services.
We're a small, boutique therapy practice based in Los Angeles, and we built this practice with one belief at the center: therapy should be built around the person, not the other way around.
We kept seeing the same story. People who had tried therapy, done the work, and still weren't getting where they needed to go.
Not because they weren't trying hard enough. Because the approach wasn't built for them.
That's why every client here is matched carefully with the right therapist. Every treatment plan is built collaboratively.
And every session is pointed at the same goal: getting you to a place where you feel balanced, powerful, and ready to take on whatever comes next.
Why People Choose Duality Psych Services
A plan, not just a process.
You won't just show up week after week and see where it goes. From the start, we build a real treatment plan with you, with clear goals, a clear direction, and a clear path forward.
Therapy that fits you, not the other way around.
Our clinicians are trained across multiple evidence-based approaches. That means we're never locked into one way of helping you. We use what actually works for where you are right now.
The right therapist from the start.
We take the time to match you carefully before your first session. Not just whoever has availability, but the person best suited to what you're going through.
A practice that’s in it for the long game.
We accept Optum, UnitedHealthcare, & Aetna so cost doesn't have to be a barrier. And we are getting on more insurance panels as well. Because our goal is your independence, not your dependency, you'll always know we're working toward an endpoint, not just the next session.

Treat the whole picture, not just the presenting symptom

Small, boutique practice, not a mill
We keep our team small on purpose. You're matched carefully with the right therapist, not whoever's next in the queue, and you're never just a name on a caseload.

Goal is independence, not indefinite sessions
We're not here to keep you in therapy forever. From day one, we work toward a real endpoint, so you leave with the tools to manage on your own.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
At present, we are in-network with Aetna and Optum/UnitedHealthcare.
We are also working to get panelled with more insurance providers to make it easier for clients to work with us.
For individuals who are not in-network with one of our insurance plans, our out-of-network fee for therapy is $250.00 per session.
-
We can still work together. Many plans in California include out of network (OON) benefits, meaning your insurer may reimburse you directly for part of each session even though we're not in their network.
Here's how that works. You pay the session fee upfront, and we give you a superbill, a receipt with the codes your insurer needs. You submit that to them, and if your plan has OON benefits, you get reimbursed directly. The exact percentage depends on your specific plan. We always recommend contacting your insurance to see if they will accept superbills for your sessions.
What we’d recommend is reaching out to us with your insurance card at the ready. On the call, we can collect all the information we'd need to check your benefits and will send you what we find as soon as possible. -
Yes. For most concerns, including anxiety, depression, and trauma, online therapy gets the same results as in-person. You're working with the same licensed clinician and the same treatment plan, just without the drive.
-
Yes. If you're covered by Aetna, Optum, or UnitedHealthcare, your online sessions are billed the same way as an in-person visit. If you have a different plan, many PPO plans still offer out-of-network reimbursement, and we can walk you through that on your free consultation call.
-
No. Our goal from day one is to give you a treatment plan with an actual endpoint, not open-ended weekly sessions. We want you to leave with the tools to manage on your own.
-
Before your first session, we take the time to understand what you're going through and match you with the clinician best suited to it, not just whoever has an opening.
-
That's common. If something feels off and therapy alone hasn't given you clarity, testing can help identify what's actually going on, whether that's ADHD, autism, or a learning difference. We offer both under one roof.
Real Change Is Possible.
We’ve Seen It.
Feeling steady in your emotions and secure in your relationships isn't a fantasy.
It's what happens when the right person gets the right support at the right time.
If you're tired of your emotions running your relationships...
If you keep finding yourself in the same painful patterns no matter how hard you try...
If you're ready to stop managing and start actually changing...
We'd be glad to walk with you toward what's next.
